The National Pandemic Flu Service  was launched in July 2009. This service will assess the patient’s symptoms and, if required, provide an authorisation number, which can be used to collect antivirals from a local Antiviral Collection Point.

The service can be accessed by the public through calling 0800 1 513100 or through the DirectGov website.

Part of our preparation includes regular training exercises where we bring together all of the agencies in a staged situation. This lets us practise co-ordinating our response so that we can act quickly and effectively should a real emergency occur.
