Business Continuity Awareness Week

Business Continuity Awareness Week 22-26 March 2010

The Business Continuity Awareness Week 2010 took place last week commencing on Monday 22 March to provide an educational event for people who would like to learn more about business continuity management and how they might benefit from its application.

“Solving the business resilience puzzle”

The purpose of BCAW is to provide an educational event for people who would like to learn more about business continuity management and how they might benefit from its application.

Although its roots lie in the UK, BCM now has significant international traction and in order to meet the growing international interest in BCM this year’s event features an extensive web-based event programme and resources all accessed through the global website http://www.businesscontinuityawarenessweek.org/

In 2009 the focus was developing relationships with the human resources profession, developing practical advice for small business and briefing politicians on the benefit of wider adoption of BCM in dealing with the impact of civil contingencies.

In 2010 the focus is on developing a dialogue with the insurance industry; publishing practical advice for supply chain management professionals around how they can gain greater resilience in their supply chains, and setting out the tangible benefits of BCM programmes in a signature research project entitled “the Business Case for BCM”.
