Flooding causes Chester Racecourse to be evacuated
On Sunday 5th August the family fun day at Chester Racecourse
was abandoned due to torrential downpours, thunder and lightning
which saw more than
half the average rainfall
for August fall in 90 minutes.
All agencies worked together to ensure public safety at the Racecourse, City Centre and surrounding area and there were no reports of anyone being injured, There were numerous floods reported in the area.
