Large Fire at Peckforton Castle
More than 100 fire fighters and 20 appliances
spent
most of Sunday 19th June 2011 tackling a "major" blaze
at Peckforton Castle, near Tarporley, Cheshire.
Due to the severity of the fire Crews from Merseyside,
Shropshire and North Wales assisted Cheshire to tackle
the blaze amid fears that the blaze would completely destroy the
Grade I-listed property.
There were no reported casualties from the fire.
All three floors of the affected wing were extensively involved in
the fire, including hotel bedrooms and offices.

A multi agency response was put in place throughout the incident.
