Public Disorder.
No large scale incidents across Cheshire
Whilst there has been a small number of incidents in
Cheshire we have seen nothing on the scale of public disorder
experienced accross other parts of the country.
The communities and businesses of Cheshire continue to be supported
by Cheshire Police and other partner agencies to ensure any anti
social behaviour is controlled.
Below is an extract from Cheshire Police Website as to the
way in which they have policed Cheshire over the last few
days.
Cheshire Police are continuing to adopt a highly visible presence
on the streets.
There have been no incidents of note and officers are
responding to calls and attending incidents that are regular
and routine.
Communities are sharing their concerns with us and providing information that is allowing officers to respond to any incidents where they are concerned about a person’s behaviour. Officers are dealing with incidents of anti-social behaviour and other criminal activity as they do any other night or day of the week.
Officers deal with the types of calls we are being called to
respond every other night and day of the week - it is very
much business as usual.
We would like to reassure Cheshire residents and businesses that
the information coming in is not causing the organisation any
concerns in relation to the disturbances
that have been happening elsewhere around the country.
Cheshire Police would like to re-assure local residents that there is no cause for alarm. We are asking for their continued support in providing information and would also ask them to apply their judgement to any messages they receive via social media in light of the fact that Cheshire has not had any incidents of note reported.
Police officers will continue to respond robustly using all the powers at their disposal to ensure that the behaviour witnessed elsewhere in the country does not occur here in Cheshire. Officers will not hesitate in arresting anyone who is involved in behaviour that is likely to lead to, cause or incite, public disorder on the streets.

Inciting Disorder
Over the last couple of days Cheshire Constabulary has taken swift action against those people who have been using Facebook and other social media sites to incite disorder. To date 8 people have been arrested for inciting disorder and 4 of these are now being dealt with by the courts.
